Hello, World!!!

well, I am just starting to build this blog/website and my BRAND NEW papercraft business. As the inaugural post, here's a "wait right here, there's more coming!!!"

 there will be pictures of PHENOMENAL CARDS using stamps and dies from my favorite companies, MFTStamps and Lawn Fawn. there will be pictures of the COOL EXPLODING BOXES you can use for gifts!! there will be pictures of all the cool things i upcycle into CRAFTY GOODNESS!!! there's gonna be a YOUTUBE CHANNEL with vlogs of me making fun stuff and just being my crazy whacko self. 

 so WELCOME. 

 and yes, my name is Cindyellen. All one word, small e. Like Cinderella only different.Kinda catchy, huh? Yup, it's real. It's not Maryellen - that was a Walton. It's not CindyLou - that was a Who. Cindyellen. It means Moonlight, actually - which kinda makes Cinderella make a lot of sense, too, eh?

 Won't THIS be fun????

Hello peoples!!!! So this happened. Yes this!! I am actually starting a small cards business in Clermont FL. i was going to start one online, but frankly, that was a little overwhelming. i'm kind of a hands-on kind o gal, so i thought i would start with something i can actually touch, see how it goes.  it's my age showing.  i also think there's some fear there. i've been doing research on all these online business things and i know they all mean well, but. . . have you ever LOOKED at that stuff???? i mean, if i were to take all their advice, the only thing i would be doing would be typing on my computer! they suggest: - WRITE A POST EVERY DAY SO YOU GET TRAFFIC!!! - BOOST ALL YOUR POSTS SO YOU GET TRAFFIC!!! - MAKE SURE YOU TAG EVERY FRIEND YOU KNOW SO YOU GET TRAFFIC!!! - POST SEVERAL TIMES A DAY SO YOU GET TRAFFIC!!! - DO EMAIL BLASTS SO YOU GET TRAFFIC!!! - RESPOND RIGHT AWAY SO YOU GET TRAFFIC!!!! - NEVER LOOK BAD SO YOU GET TRAFFIC!!! - DON'T SL...

Things I have Learned In 8 Months

HELLO CRAFTY PEOPLES!!! (and family members:hi mom!) So. It's been a rough August, physically. For those of you who don't know, I have an autoimmune disease and sometimes, well sometimes it kicks ma butt. That means I get the privilege of spending a LOT of time in bed, watching Youtube videos, learning how to do things I didn't formerly know how to do. And getting to know other people in the crafting community. I do "sick things" too, but frankly, those are boring and all y'all don't want to hear about them. At some point, I may do a blog post on what it's like to have an invisible disability, but today is not the day. I am finally feeling PERKY. The Economics of Crafting

hello, crafty peoples!!! this one is going to be long, with no pictures. I hope you read it anyway. There are two points. The first is about using our brains. The second is about picking your battles. . .which is also using your brains.  So here we are, in the beginning of "Stamptember" as one of our basic supply stores calls it, and I am sitting here thinking about the economics of crafting. That store is offering codes for "free with $100 purchase" things. And "limited edition stamp sets" that seem to start around $20-35. And one of our gurus recently published a vlog talking about her favorite ink and liquid glue, both by Gina K; that liquid glue is just under $10 an ounce.  TEN DOLLARS AN OUNCE FOR GLUE.  It's glue, people.
