The BEGINNING OF NEW THINGS!!!!

Hello peoples!!!!

 So this happened. Yes this!! I am actually starting a small cards business in Clermont FL. i was going to start one online, but frankly, that was a little overwhelming. i'm kind of a hands-on kind o gal, so i thought i would start with something i can actually touch, see how it goes. 

 it's my age showing. 

 i also think there's some fear there. i've been doing research on all these online business things and i know they all mean well, but. . . have you ever LOOKED at that stuff???? i mean, if i were to take all their advice, the only thing i would be doing would be typing on my computer! they suggest:
- WRITE A POST EVERY DAY SO YOU GET TRAFFIC!!!
- BOOST ALL YOUR POSTS SO YOU GET TRAFFIC!!!
- MAKE SURE YOU TAG EVERY FRIEND YOU KNOW SO YOU GET TRAFFIC!!!
- POST SEVERAL TIMES A DAY SO YOU GET TRAFFIC!!!
- DO EMAIL BLASTS SO YOU GET TRAFFIC!!!
- RESPOND RIGHT AWAY SO YOU GET TRAFFIC!!!!
- NEVER LOOK BAD SO YOU GET TRAFFIC!!!
- DON'T SLEEP SO YOU GET TRAFFIC!!!

 . . ok the last one is an exaggeration. i don't know about the rest of you, but my body doesn't move at the speed of light. it moves at the speed of snail. and i do need to spend some time actually MAKING the things i'ma gonna put on here.  on top of that, i just don't have that many clever things to say. nope, i don't. 

 this blog is part of my brand. as such, it reflects not just the part of me that makes papercrafts, but all the parts of me.  i am an artist, in recovery, chronically ill, on a spiritual journey, married to The Man God Sent For Me To Spoil, living with my fur babies, The Terrierists. 

 what you are going to find here is pictures of projects i'm working on, links to pictures, rants and raves, reviews of products i've bought, reflective pieces on things i've watched. you won't find political things - you will find spiritual things. you're gonna find opinions and quirky world views. you're gonna find jokes and most likely a growing collection of the World's Worst Puns (yes, i'm one of them). 

 ya never know, you might figure out you like it!!

HELLO CRAFTY PEOPLES!!! (and family members:hi mom!) So. It's been a rough August, physically. The Economics of Crafting

hello, crafty peoples!!! this one is going to be long, with no pictures. I hope you read it anyway. There are two points. The first is about using our brains. The second is about picking your battles. . .which is also using your brains.  So here we are, in the beginning of "Stamptember" as one of our basic supply stores calls it, and I am sitting here thinking about the economics of crafting. That store is offering codes for "free with $100 purchase" things. And "limited edition stamp sets" that seem to start around $20-35. And one of our gurus recently published a vlog talking about her favorite ink and liquid glue, both by Gina K; that liquid glue is just under $10 an ounce.  TEN DOLLARS AN OUNCE FOR GLUE.  It's glue, people.
