Things I have Learned In 8 Months

Image
HELLO CRAFTY PEOPLES!!! (and family members:hi mom!) So. It's been a rough August, physically. For those of you who don't know, I have an autoimmune disease and sometimes, well sometimes it kicks ma butt. That means I get the privilege of spending a LOT of time in bed, watching Youtube videos, learning how to do things I didn't formerly know how to do. And getting to know other people in the crafting community. I do "sick things" too, but frankly, those are boring and all y'all don't want to hear about them. At some point, I may do a blog post on what it's like to have an invisible disability, but today is not the day. I am finally feeling PERKY. I spent the morning swatching out ALL THE LOVELY COLORS of Spectrum Noir markers I got at the Consumer Crafts sale this month (I have wholesetitis), and MADE MYSELF get up and come in here and write a blog while I have energy.  I have learned an amazing number of things, crafting over the last 8 months. INSPIRATION spotlight

Image
hello, everyone: turns out, when it's migraine season in FL, every other day is waaaaaay too ambitious a schedule. oh well.  it is time for a BRAND NEW, soon to be regular feature: the INSPIRATION SPOTLIGHT!!! *drumroll, excited band music, trumpet blasts from afar* as some of you may know and the rest of you are about to figure out, i spend a lot of time in bed. i have a spine made of tissue paper (oh the wonders of misspent youth), so i sit, then lie down, then sit, then lie down, then sit. . .etc. i love both my heating pad - and Youtube. Ok, for reals this time

So, here's the deal: i am a 55-year-old female, who did NOT grow up with computers. i am getting EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED with my inability to upload pictures to this thing. . . yes i am. i have been trying and trying, reading things and it's just not working.  at this point, i'm waiting for my husband to figure it out. i am a "learn by doing" kind o gal. if you can't SHOW ME it's probably not happening. this is why Youtube was created for people like me. Yes, it was. i can actually SEE what all y'all are doing. thus, i can ink blend. i can stencil. i can diecut. i can emboss. i can inlay. i can watercolor now. i can make an amazing number of seriously cool cards folded an amazing number of ways. my dies are stored in the CUTEST LIL BOXES EVAH.  i can't upload a picture on here to save my life.  i decided yesterday that shouldn't matter. if there's one thing i've learned in all my years it's that being EXACTLY WHO WE ARE is enco...
